Who are you?

Ok, so I have Google Analytics setup to track who visits my blog and when. Its pretty cool. Check out this map:

So I know who some of you are, like the dots in Virginia (Christy's family), New York (Jeannie), Bay Area (Rachel), Seattle (me), and Prosser (my parents). I also have to give a shout out to Molly in Austria:
Check out this map from Washington:
Here's the list of cites that the dots represent (if you can read it):
I'm glad to see that there are visitors from places where I don't really know anyone and I'm really curious who you are and how you found my blog. So, lets get some comments from you peeps and be friends! If you are reading this, even if you got it in an email, please take a like 30 seconds and go to this blog and and write a comment. Its super easy and makes me feel special! Thanks!

A few news stories

Happy Birthday IMDB! You're 18 years old, which makes you older than the Internet!

Palin vs. "Palin" (Commentary on how Tina Fey's SNL paradoys are blurring the line between fact and fiction.

Why Some Women Hate Sarah Palin After overhearin some women talk about their deep hatred for Sarah Palin, this article helped me understand why. I like to base my opinions on rational facts, not emotions. Bam!

FiveThirtyEight.com Created by a baseball statistician to predict who the next President will be. At this point, he says Obama has a 95.1% chance of winning. Check it out, it is neat-o.

Full Circle Farm CSA Christy and I just joined this CSA (Community-supported agriculture) and get our first box or organic, farm-fresh, produce next Thursday! Can't wait to see what obscure things we'll get. We may need help finding recipes for things I've never even heard of before.

A Family Divided
An article about politics causing friction in a family and how they deal with it and love each other anyway. I don't see why people from the same family would have different opinions (sarcasm alert).

Ok, this should keep you busy reading for another month. And here's a little treat for all you sports fans. Frank Caliendo is hilarious!

Yes, I'm still alive!

So I know its been like 2 (maybe 3)weeks since my last blog post...here's a quick overview of the those exciting 13 days as well as what lies ahead:
  1. We used all the gift cards from the wedding to buy all the stuff from our Target, Crate and Barrel, and Macy's registries. So thanks to everyone who gave us gift cards or cash!
  2. We cooked a beer can chicken for Diane, Grandma Audrey and Grandpa Bill, and Uncle Dean! It was a lot of fun to show off our apt and my guitar hero skills (Bill still doesn't get how it works or comprehend that I can actually cook, and clean)
  3. We cooked beer can chicken again, this time for Jonah Nelson (groomsman) and his wonderful fiance Mindy, and fifth wheel Dan Rosales (also groomsman). We had to prepare a lot more food for this meal than for #2, so we did a little Caprese salad for appetizers, and then for the main meal, risotto, corn, bbq veggies, Christy's famous melon-ball salad, and the chicken. Don't forget about the brownies and homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert! We had a lot of fun with them.
  4. We met our vertical neighbor, who just happens to be from UPS, just graduated, played football, and played offensive line (tackle)! How crazy is that?! His name is Curtis and we had fun reminising about the astro turf at Sparks Stadium and how it caused him to tear his ACL and ruin his season, which really sucks (just ask the kitty cat). Now we know what that noise is from upstairs (usually a reaction to a video game causing him to throw downa remote or his feet...hmm, sounds very familiar...)
  5. We watched the USC-OSU football game with the Aronson's. Kyle cooked up a great flank steak and peanut butter/chocolate rice Krispy treats, and we played a great card game called Racko (and yes, I won!). Next time, I'm teaching them Idiot.
  6. I had a conference for work in Portland from Sunday til Wednesday. Not really worth writting too much about, but I got lot of SWAG and got to go to a winery called Willamette Valley Vineyards and hear Linda Hornbuckle sing some sweet jazz.
  7. On Wednesday evening around 6, I got dropped off in Tacoma, where Christy picked me up. We attended our first GOLD (Graduates Of the Last Decade) committee meeting at Jacob and Elisabeth Pynn Himmelman's beautiful house just off in 6th Ave. It was such a great house and fun to be involved in PLU stuff once again. Good to meet a fellow EMAL from '01 name Chris Averso (something like that) (he played with Benji).
  8. We bought the Office Season 4, which we are watching and should finish before the new season starts on Thursday, which I have been looking forward to for so long! They have a all of episodes online for free, so knock yourself out. For those of you not familiar with the Office, first of all you haven't lived yet, and second of all, here's a little taste of what you've been missing out on

  9. We went to the DOL and waited for an hour and half to change Christy's name and address. I changed my address too...good times.
  10. We went to my first "has-been" EMAL game against Cal-Lu, which we lost unfortunately but it was fun to watch all those guys get to play with each other. Its a load of fun, but I don't miss it because I'm happy where I'm at. We dragged Caroline and her roomie Tiffany along, so Christy talked with them while I cheered on the Lutes and made sure they didn't clap at the wrong times. BTW, the finally got field turf at Sparks Field...so the knee mutilator is no more (a year too late for Curtis). Quick shout out to Prosser alum Kellen Moore who led the Boise St. Broncos to a big victory over the Oregon Ducks! I wonder who Kevin Lusk was cheering for)
  11. FOOD: We made homemade lasagna on Friday night with our sweet and heavy new Mario Batali pan. It didn't turn out as good as others I have made, but it was fun. Tonight we made Chicken curry with potatoes, carrots, onions and peas and it turned out really good! We're making a pot roast in the crock pot sometime this week. New to me but a classic at the Olsen home.
  12. We watched the Inconvenient Truth, which we both really liked because it clearly shows how we are slowly (well not as slow now) but surely killing our planet. Its sad to think about the irreversible changes that have already happened, like lakes completely drying up. Even if you don't believe in global warming (like the genious Republican VP candidate), its worth watching just so that we are aware of that viewpoint. We watched Sicko a few weeks ago for the same reason, and learned a few things. Even if it is very slanted, it makes you a more informed person and forces you to fact check if you really care. Please feel free to comment on your opinions
  13. We watched the Seahawks win today (finally) as we cleaned up the apt. Thank god we only have 850 sq. ft, because we have a hard enough time staying on top of things as it is. We took a nice brisk walk around Green Lake and it was beautiful out.
  14. SPORE! I got the latest iteration of the Sims series and it is sweet! You start as a single cell organism and evolve your way to space travel and intergalactic domination. While I don't agree with the philosphy behind it, its been 5 years in the making and is a lot of fun to play. Check out the trailer:

So, that pretty much sums up the past 2 weeks. I probably left a few things out, but I've gotta finish so we can watch more of the Office. Christy says hi everyone and we're looking forward to a fun weekend ahead with my parents and Christy's dad Rich (I guess I get to call him my FIL now). So long and farwell, from Bad Ischal to the Tithables, from the Village to Palo Alto, from Sunset Dr. to Tingelstad Hall..."I'm living the Dulce de Leche!" -Micheal Scott (in the deleted scenes from season 4)

Wonderful weekend in Prosser

So, I just realized that I haven't blogged for a whole week again. Tsk tsk. Anyway, our big events of the week were Diane and Caroline flying over for the start of PLU (classes started today/Monday) and our wedding reception in Prosser. It worked out for Diane to come to Prosser and celebrate with us, which was great! We picked her up from PLU on Friday after work and dropped some of Caroline's stuff that we've been holding for her. She has a new roomate, a great boyfriend (Taylo!), and 9th floor T-stad room with a view (plus no Crew this year, so she can actually sleep and have a social life. Christy and I are looking forward to having them up here some weekend to hang out with the old married couple.

So, we got to Prosser late Friday, and as always it was good to see my parents and Charlie. My dad's sister Rachel came from Bremerton to be our guest chef/caterer for the party at 4:00 on Satuday. She spent a lot of time preparing for it and kept us busy right up til the party getting the food ready. It was so thoughtful of her to do this for us for free! Plus, she through a party (with her sisters Sharman and Chris of course) for all or my family and Christy's on the Thursday before the wedding. It was fun to see so many old classmates, teachers, and family friends. My MIA groomsman (he couldn't make the wedding because his flight instructor wouldn't let him leave, so he wasn't offically MIA thank goodness) Matt Pinson totally surprised me by flying home for this party! I didn't get to talk to him much during the party, but we had a good time talking politics with our old Spanish teacher over some beers at the after-party. Since Christy and I were the guests of honor, we had to greet everyone and couldn't just roam as we pleased. Christy already knew a lot of people and we ended up splitting up, so that worked out well.

So I know you're all dying to know what wonderful food Rachel prepared for the party. She is just as good of a cook as my dad, if not better. She has catering experience, so she planned mostly bitesized dishes. On the menu:
  • Handmade sweedish meatballs (400 of them!)
  • Baked brie with onions and pastry dough
  • Awesome artichoke jalepeno dip (my favorite)
  • A classy cheese spread (champange cheese included)
  • Watermellon with strawberries (Christy and I put that together)
  • Chinese pork with mustard and sesame seeds (I got to cut those!)
  • Baked portabella mushrooms with a greek, goat cheese spread on top
  • Cone sushi with relish and baby shrimp (Diane and Christy put those together)
  • Chineese chicken salad in baby wonton bowls
  • Capresse salad
  • Plenty of wine
So, everything turned out great and the party went off without a hitch! Christy and I stayed up late Friday night putting together a picture slideshow on iMovie to burn to a DVD which we played a the party. That was a lot of fun to put those picutures to fun music. Look for a version on YouTube soon hopefully.

So, its late and I need to hit the sack, but thanks for reading and remember I love getting comments about anything and everything. If you recieve this via email, please visit my website aslo (click here) so I get a hit on my hit counter! Thanks and love to you all!

Was I really that busy?

So I haven't blogged in over a week! Was I really that busy that I didn't blog at all. I guess I should review what I've actually been up to:
  1. IKEA shopping trip to get stuff (found a new desk, but it was too big for our car)
  2. Colton and Jennifer Oliphant's wedding in Wisteria Gardens
  3. Sleepover with Ellen and Kyle Aronson (see #8)
  4. Round of golf at Interbay Golf with Kyle
  5. Watched Cougs and Huskies get trounced on
  6. Witness Prosser's very own Kellen Moore dominate in his first start as a BSU Bronco
  7. Seahawks jayvee dominate the Raiders jayvee.
  8. Got an areobed for our guest bedroom (its actually a guest bedroom now!)
  9. Went to the last hour of Bumbershoot to see Sondre Lerche (from Dan in Real Life!)
  10. Another week of work
  11. A walk around Green Lake with my wonderful wife Christy
  12. Food: Great happy hour sushi at Chinoise, Steak and Corn, BBQ chicken and grilled veggies, Buca di Beppo with Ellen and Kyle, a Bloomin Onion at the Outback
  13. Barack-mania at mile hile stadium
  14. Finally watched the Netflix movie we've been holding duing the entire Olympics (Sicko and the Departed). Sicko definately bashes on my industry...but found a great rebuttal from 20/20

So, I'll leave it up to you to decide if that was a busy week or not, but either way it was fun. I'm definitely looking forward to the new season of TV shows (think The Office and Grey's Anatomy), cause I'm watching the new 90210 and kinda enjoying it. Not a good thing. John Stewart and Steven Colbert have been a joy to watch, as usual. They have great coverage of the DNC and I'm looking forward to hearing what they have to say about the GOP.

Hope you're all doing well! Chau from Seattle!

Bah-Rock

So, we're watching Mee-shell Oh-bomb-a (as in "She da bomb!) talk at the Democratic National Convention. Christy shouts out enthusiastically "Go Obama!" and I subtly nod in approval. I know Christy is gung ho for Senor Obama, and I am leaning his way pretty heavily, but I feel like I'm betraying my Eastern Washington roots to not vote Republican.

Anyway, she's done so now back to the Seahawks only Monday Night Football game of the season, which is stupid they only got 1 and its in preseason! Well its already on Sportscenter and ESPN.com says they lost by 1 on a two point conversion. Well that sucks, but Hasselback didn't even suit up, so it doesn't really count. They just need their young receivers to play big this year, just like the Huskies and Prosser's very own Cody Bruns who should get playing time as a true freshman.

So now that the Olympics are over, we can finally watch the netflix movies we've had for over 2 weeks now. They're both chick flicks so I want to get 'em in the mail so I can get a film that is about the industry I work in: Michael Moore's Sicko. I kinda think he is a sicko, but I'm curious what the documentary has to say with my newfound industry knowledge. Once Christy finishes her work (for her former job at PLU, not even for her current job) we'll start one of them, so to get in the mood I'm gonna play a little Guitar Hero. I've been working on all the songs on easy to get my skills back.

Lazy Seattle Sunday

So, as for the title of this blog post, think SNL and The Office...you know what I'm talking about. Actually, we're not being too lazy: we're cleaning house...or apartment as we watch the final day of Olympics. Christy was looking forward to watching the team rhythmic gymnastics, which is currently on and let me say...WOW! I am so impressed on how coordinated they are to throw those hoops in the air and then kick them to someone. If you get a chance, watch it nbcolympicscom. They're pretty cute too!

So, yes we are cleaning house. We always have our thermostat off and just leave our windows open to ventilate the apartment, which lets in a ton of dust, especially by the windows. We cleaned up those messes and then started working on the den. Our goal was to transfer all our books, which were in the free liquor store boxes setup as temporary bookshelves, to our new IKEA bookshelves. We got that done and plan on putting some pictures on the walls and organizing the den a little more.

So we woke up this morning and saw some utility trucks in the street right outside our window. I went down to check it out as I went get the newspaper (which wasn't there because people keep stealing it!) and saw that there was a main water line leak. Water was literally leaking out of the road. I'm not sure how they first discovered the leak, but they were poking holes in the asphalt to let the water drain. Later, they brought in some heavier equipment to dig a bigger hole and they're still working on it, though I'm not sure what they're doing.

So I promised to blog about Friday and Saturday, so here's the abridged version: Friday after work I went to Capitol Hill with Sean, an intern at Regence who just finished his last day, and went to a great Sushi place called Chinoise with his fiance Ryli and a coworker named Brian. I had a Seattle roll and a spicy tuna roll with a glass of Chardonay for $14 on the happy hour menu. Once I got home, Christy and I drove back to Capitol Hill because we haven't really explored that area yet. We walked along the Lake Washington waterfront and then through residential streets and saw some amazing homes at ridiculous prices. We've been trying to go on walks more both for the exercise and to get to know Seattle better.

On Saturday, we walked to Pike Place Market, which we have both been to many times with our familes, but not since we moved here. We bought some BBQ spice rub from Market Spice (an Olsen favorite), got a blueberry scone from Three Sisters Bakery (a Field favorite), and then got some groceries at Whole Foods. We had salmon burger patties from WF with corn and lemon orzo...mmmm! Christy made a watermellon sorbet with lime creme for a party that night at the Osborne's in Tacoma. We went down there, not sure if it was just us they invited or a big party, and it ended up being a big family get-together. A lot of fun people, good food, swimming and kayaking in the Sound, and sunny skies...a perfect Saturday afternoon/night. Then I stayed up late to watch the US and Spain mens basketball teams battle for the gold, which was an hard fought game.

Before I go, just want to say welcome home from Norway to the Olsens, thanks to Judy and Bob for making us a part of their family. Love you all and looking forward to seeing you soon.

Watching the Redeem Team vs. Spain for the Gold!

12:00 AM So its been a busy couple of days, which intend to blog about...but I'm hooked on my this basketball game! I kinda expected and wanted the US to run away with it, but I'm glad its a close game and it is forcing the US to play their best, which I believe they have done most of this tournament. They didn't just expect to show up and win anymore but really are out to regain the title. Into the 2nd quarter now and the US is up by 12. More to come later.

12:15 AM I've enjoyed watching players from Spain that I've never heard of, like Ricky Rubio and Paul Gasol's larger brother Marc. They got an early lead on the US in the first quarter. The US is having some foul trouble, like Kobe and Lebron both getting 2 fouls in the first 5 minutes. Wow, Lebron just made a great move to the bucket in transition from a turnover. They've had quite a few of those with big, crowd-pleasing dunks.

12:16 AM The US is really relying on the 3 pointer a lot. They've hit 7 of 10 so far, when they average about 30% in this tournament. Its good to see them play more as a team. In the NBA, too often its a one on one game, or some guy will just throw up a three for no reason. I like the team game more...constant movement, pick and rolls, great assists, movement without the ball, fighting for rebounds and putbacks...that's my game and thats the way most international teams play ball and thats exactly how the US lost 4 years ago (playing great individuals against great teams)...and thats how they are winning (great individuals playing as a team).

12:20 AM Halftime and the US is up by only 8, their smallest lead at half in the tourney. The are shooting about 85%, which is great, but giving up way too many points. The have been winning with a stifling defense that creates turnovers or forces bad shots, but not in the first half of this game. Too many stupid of petty fouls and second shots have kept Spain in the game.

1:00 AM End of third quarter and I'm dissapointed in the US. They aren't playing poorly, but they still have a 9 point lead. I hope they step it up for this final quarter. Spain's zone defense has been stiffling the US, who settles for three pointers too often. Funny side note, right before the commercial break they played a tune they usually play for NBA songs instead of the olympic fanfare tune. Spain is really playing a great game. One of their guys has had some great floaters and they are playing great team defense.

1:01 AM Case in point: Kobe throws up an pointless 3 and misses. Then on D, he doesn't cover on a pick and roll and Pau Gasol throws down an alley oop. Then Melo throws up another stupid 3, so Spain comes down and nails a three: 2 point game. Come on guys...

1:07 AM They're playing better. Kobe had 3 great plays on offense, but just had a lazy defensive play and Fernandez got past him and someone had to foul him as he threw down a sick dunk! 8 point game with 4:30 left.

1:13 AM Kobe just knocked down a 3 and got fouled with 3:10 left! A huge shot. Also, it fouled Rudy Fernandez out of the game...which is huge.

1:15 AM Kobe throws up another stupid, stupid three pointer. So frustrating. It lead to a Spain bucket and then a Spain 3 pointer to pull it within 4. Wade hit a 3 and pushed it to 7. Too much reliance on 3 pointers and poor defense.

1:17 AM The Spanish point gaurd is only 17! He is playing pretty clutch. 8 point game with 1 minute left. Some big defensive rebounds for US the last 2 possessions. Looks like fouls from here on out.

1:22 AM Looks like the US is gonna win. 26 seconds left. Its really cool seeing all these NBA stars play together and be friends. Spain just got an unsportsmanlike foul and a Technical.

1:25 AM The USA wins! Hugs everywhere and the redeem team has achieved their goal. Chants of USA...its good to be on top of the world again! Huge props to Spain who gave them the biggest challenge and the US responded. They're jumping and cheering like a bunch of kids. Its good to see genuine joy and pride for their team and country. Coach K smiled! He doesn't do that much. I'd love to meet that guy. Such a class act. Keep an eye out for Marc Gasol, Pau's little bigger brother whose nickname is "The Tank". "Marc the tank, marc the tank...!" Ok, its late but totally worth watching. Night loyal blog readers (aka, mom).

Researching Cars

So I have a little free time at work today and started looking into cars. I have a nice car, a 2002 Subaru Legacy GT, and have no complaints and no plans to buy a car for another 2-3 years. BUT, it is fun to see what is available. I want a car that gets around 30 miles per gallon (both for paying for less gas and for being nicer to this world of ours), not a hybrid because those are expensive and the batteries are apparently bad for the environment), and one that has a good record of quality/reliability. Other features would be fun, but I can live without them.

What got me thinking about this was a Seattle Times article called "Unconvential Economy Cars." So the first one I found was the Nissan Versa, which was ok, but had a bad reliability rating on US News and World Report (they probably aren't the best place to get a car review, but its what I found and I like the format). I saw that the highest rated car was the Honda Civic and close behind it was the Honda Fit, which I remember liking when I looked into it a few weeks ago. CNET didn't like it because it didn't have a lot of fun features, like nice car stereo or bluetooth, but those things are not the most important to me (plus you can upgrade). Car and Driver says, "Not only does the Fit deliver what you'd expect -- high mpg numbers and low ownership costs -- but it also delivers something you might not: high-quality interior appointments, a high level of usefulness, and a high fun-to-drive index." Honestly, I don't think Christy would like the shape/look of it. Well, I'm in no position to go buy a car nor do I need to fortunately, just fun to look.

What a day!

So its almost 1:00 AM and I am exhausted. I was up at 6:15 to go play golf, which went ok. It was a 9 hole 3 par course in Interbay and I scored a 52, which isn't very good, but I had a sweet shot on the third hole, which made my day. I hit a 30-ish foot pitching shot into the green and it rolled into the hole! I was pretty surprised it went it.

Once I got to work, I rewarded myself with a healthy veggie omelet at work. I stayed pretty busy all day, which isn't always the case. I went to lunch with Sean, an intern whose last day is tomorrow, for the last time. He's not really an intern as he has a lot of experience and skills and did a great job researching wiki options for our department that (hopefully) will be implemented soon. Christy and I went to dinner with Sean and his fiance Rlyi at a bar in Capital Hill called Deluxe. The food was ok, but it was a fun time. We went straight to Target to get more invitations for our Prosser wedding reception in 2 weeks. Then we came home and finished put the invitations all together with address labels and stamps. We got most of them all done so we can send them tomorrow, which is a huge accomplishment!

Well, after watching the US men's beach volleyball team kick butt and seeing the mens and womens relay teams BOTH drop the batons, I am ready to hit the sack. I think the most rediculous sport in the Olympics is speed walking. It was on last night and just looked so weird. Walking in a long oval for hours and hours must be pretty boring. The way they twist their bodies just looks unnatural.

PROGRAMMING NOTE: Watch the US vs. Argentina basketball game at 7:15 AM PST on Friday (a few hours away). It could be a great game and I am torn on who to root for.

One more note...I'm playing with Goolge Analytics to see who is reading this, so if you read this blog, please write a simple comment to let me know who you are. Thanks!

Mmmm..so tasty

So I was in charge of deciding what we cook for dinner to tonight and I had no idea until I started walking home after work. We got some great vegetables (tomatoes, yellow zucinni, walla walla onion, and summer squash, like a pickle but not pickeled) from my parents this weekend and we didn't have many groceries at home, but I knew we had spaghetti and marina sauce. I stopped by Whole Foods on my way home and got 2 Italian pork sausage and 2 Italian chicken sausage, as well as some mushrooms. Once I got home and showered from working out, I cut up all the veggies and sauteed them with some dried basil (thanks dad) and some red pepper seasoning. Christy cooked the pasta and sausage, which we sliced into nice bite size pieces. All that was left was combining it all in our odd-shaped Rachel Ray pan and, of course, eating it (my favorite part). It turned out delicious!!! We enjoyed it with a nice bottle of McKinley Springs Cabernet Sauvignon (again, thanks dad). I would include pictures, but we can't find the USB cable for the camera.

We're substituting the Olympics tonight with the Food Network. Battle Mango in Iron Stadium!!! I hope to be going to bed earlier tonight because I'm getting up early tomorrow to play 9 hole at Interbay, which is a 3 par course nearby, with some guys from work. We went last month and I'm looking forward to honing my skills. I just hope the sky dumps all its rain tonight so we won't have to play in the rain tomorrow.

Update on my foot (if you care): It felt great all day, until I ran on the treadmill for 10 minutes and biked for awhile. Now my foot is a pain in the...well, foot I guess. I suppose running isn't good for it. Bummer.

Now I see why Seattle can be so depressing...

So there is a summer rain storm in Seattle today, which is weird because August is supposed to be the best month in terms of nice weather of the whole year. I don't mind the rain at all, well we'll see once I have to walk to and from work in it. Especially in the heat of summer, the rain is a nice change and clears out all the smog. But as I sit in my cube, I've noticed that when it is cloudy and rainy everything is just darker and depressing. At lunch it was sunny and warm, and then just hours later it got all dark and rainy again. That is one thing I miss about Eastern Washington: the weather didn't fluccuate as much in 1 day. I thought I would be used to that by now. I specifically remember being surprised at how many weather changes could occur in one day as I sat in class at PLU.

Olympics are exhausting to watch

So I've decided that in a normal week, I get progressively more tired throughout the week so that by Friday morning, I need extra coffee to stay awake. Well today felt like a Friday because I have been staying up late every night for the past week and a half. As much as I love seeing Micheal Phelps win gold medals and gymnast judges rob the US, I cannot wait to get some more sleep starting next week. Well, only a few nights left to go. If I was really hard core, I would have woken up early this morning to watch an epic battle between Argentina and Brazil on the futbal pitch (which Argentina won 3-nil, which made me happy). Looking forward to the final on Saturday against Nigeria. Argentina won the gold 4 years ago, but lost to Nigeria 8 years ago in Atlanta. I didn't realize that Nigeria was so good.

I worked out after work in the gym in my building, which I have started to do a few days a week over the past month, but I just didn't have much energy, which was no fun. Plus, my left foot (the outside on the arch) has been hurting me every step I take.

Well, back to the Olympics.

Watching Olympics

Another quiet night at the Field's apartment in South Lake Union. We got an incredible Cherry Bomb Pie from Zeeks Pizza with we downed with some Moose Drool as we watched the Olympic events of Ping Pong, Triathalon, and Volleyball (as Christy said, "How ironic is it where triathlon and ping pong are part of the same event.") Currently we're watching young man dangling from rings...my favorite! Actually, I'm a big fan of doubles badminton. Those guys have such a fast reflexes and really smack the little birdie.

I stole the Wii from my parents becasue as of today they are offically empty nesters and wouldn't be Wii-ing. I set it up here tonight and played Guitar Hero with Kyle in Puyallup over the Internet, which was pretty sweet. I'm a little out of shape on the guitar and need to practice so I can impress everyone.

We just started working on invitations for our wedding reception in Prosser in 3 weeks, so I've gotta get back to that. Adios!

At work...

Well, for my second official blog, I am on a conference call and getting bored, so I thought I'd inform the world that of that.

I was excited to see that I already had 2 comments on my first blog! That makes me feel special. Thanks for visiting me blog and stay tuned for fun layout changes as I explore each and every gadget available (notice the ESPN one at the bottom of the page).

Well, just so you know, my blogging style is shorter, more frequent blogs rather than longer, drawn out blogs that take more than 1 minute to read. I have ADD with reading and get easily distracted, so I like short articles. What do you guys prefer?

So, I brought my sunglasses today and it ended up being a rainy dreary Seattle day, which is not normal for summer. We might get some thunder storms later today, which would be pretty exciting! Just wish I had brought my raincoat and umbrella and left the sunglasses at home.

Thats all for now!

My first blog!

So this is my first blog and my first official blog post. I'm not really sure what my blog is going to be about, but I'm hoping to keep my family and friends updated on what I'm up to, but for all of you who don't know me, allow me to introduce myself:

My name is Carl Field and I live in Seattle, WA with my wife Christy. We just graduated from PLU in Tacoma, WA and have recently started new jobs. Topics that interest me are technology, sports, environmental sustainability, cooking, healthcare...and that's about it.

So, stay tunned to hear more about my exciting life...actually, I can't promise that, but it will be about real life at least.
